Valerie and Poppy team up with Melbourne instructors to showcase OPACIZE™ at Oakleigh Glendi 2018.
The Glendi is a two day program presented by the Greek Orthodox Community of Oakleigh and celebrates the Patron Saints of Sts Anargiri, showcases the local community’s rich Hellenic culture as well as other cultural identities, and commemorates the official Greek National Day known as ‘Ohi’.
We would like to thank the festival organisers and community for welcoming and embracing us and in particular the following people/businesses who connected with us on a more personal level and made us feel part of their ‘horio’ (community):
Ruth Bardis - #greekfoodphotography #hellenickanella (check out her amazing cookbook), #thegreektrojanyirosfoodtruck (for being the best food ever), #honeydeeloukoumades (honey puffs – no words!), #mythos_beer (best beer ever), #pagotogelatowafflehouse, Mr Pitta, K Studios School of Performing Arts (these kids were so much fun to dance with and they sing beautifully too), #vasilismpatis and band for entertaining us well into the evening (so awesome!), Sts Anargari volunteers for their wonderful ‘glika tou koutaliou’ (sweets) and coffees. Pegasus Dance Academy and all the other entertainers and particularly the #pontiakiestiamelbourne (cause we really love Pontiac dancing), #glendiband, #catsandthecanary (missed watching you guys but hope to next year), SBS Radio, Rhythmos Radio. The Spartans (cause you guys were too funny and didn’t stake us when we were holding up traffic), #olianafoods, #eleosskincare and #toptoursandtravel (even though we didn’t win any of the travel vouchers).
